The topic of evolution is all around us; you learn about it in school, hear about it on TV, and it is talked about so often. This idea of evolution is often discussed as a fact, but even the brightest scientists around the world can’t prove it or even agree upon it. It is so important to know what we believe about evolution because it not only determines our past but it affects our future.

The biggest problem with believing in evolution is that if you think of your life as just a random coincidence, then you are also admitting that there is no reason for you. That’s depressing. Why bother trying to achieve anything, or be nice to anyone, or follow any rules, because ultimately nothing you do matters in the long run. See the problem with evolution isn’t just that it goes against Biblical truths, but it also gives us no purpose. When you believe in an all-loving creator, you understand that your life has meaning, and the way you act and things you do actually matter.

Believing that a Heavenly Father created us should radically change our entire lives. Because if we believe that a perfect God designed and made us, and that He planned everything that’s happened in our past and everything that will happen in our future, then we are forced to look at our lives differently. Suddenly we have to stop viewing other people as just flesh and bone but as brothers and sisters, and instead of treating them as strangers, we start loving them like family. We now look at the problems and struggles that we go through not as things to harm us or destroy us, but as opportunities to grow. We no longer hate ourselves because of our flaws; we have to find beauty in the fact that we were fearfully and wonderfully made. Believing in God isn’t just a thought process or a backup plan; it actually transforms our entire lives and completely changes the way we live.

God, thank you for creating me, thank you for designing every aspect of my existence. Lord, help me not to see myself as a worthless person, but as a priceless child. Help me to love others with the same love you have for me, and help me to be an example to those who don’t know you. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
